Bunka held its 22nd Anniversary Party on 26th August 2007
at River View Hotel, Lily Ballroom.
For a start, our Managing Director, Mr Hiew gave a speech
on Bunka's history and paid tribute to Ms Ebihara, our school's
founder, who had flown in from Japan to join the meaningful
event. It was followed by a warm and touching speech by
Ms Ebihara.
Ms Mizusaki, our senior teacher then introduced the teachers
of Bunka. All our teachers introduced themselves, the hometown
they came from in Japan and their favourite Singapore food.
Next, Mr Hiew introduced the administrative staff. Two of
our administrative staff and one ex-staff were in their
yukata, perking up the atmosphere for the party.
The party started off with a game "High and Low"
led by Mr Gima. A card is drawn from a deck of playing cards
and guests have to guess whether the next card drawn is
higher or lower. The entire ballroom was filled with laughter
during the game.
Dinner was served — a sumptuous Japanese buffet. Students,
teachers and staff took the opportunity to mingle and take
some photographs.
The next game "Janken" (Scissors, Paper,
Stone) was played after dinner led by Ms Oya and Mr Takatsuka.
It was exciting and enjoyable as students tried their best
to remain in the game.
Then it was the Lucky Draw. Lucky winners had broad smiles
when their names were picked.
All good things must come to an end. The party ended with
the traditional 'San Bon Jime', a clapping ritual
of 3 x 3 x 1 ending with Mr Takatsuka wishing everyone "Good
night, sleep tight, sweet dreams". |
