Interview with Mr Miura

We’re pretty sure some of you have seen him around at Bunka. If you haven’t, please blog-meet one of our new teachers, Miura Sensei, who is currently teaching our Elementary courses.
Why did you choose to work at Bunka?
MI: I wanted to try working as a Japanese language teacher in Singapore.
What is/are your hobby(ies)?
MI: Reading world history books and visiting places where wars took place.
Which part of Japan were you born in & what do you like & miss about your hometown in Japan?
MI: I live in Osaka and I love and miss the takoyaki there.
Where is your current favourite hangout in Singapore?
MI: I love to read books in KINOKUNIYA and go to the local library.
Describe yourself in 3 words.
MI: Korea, World history, Dragon ball
What are your favourite and least favourite local foods? / What local dishes have you tried or wish to try?
MI: I want to try Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice!
Tell us something not many people know about you.
MI: I have sensitive skin and a weak stomach. I cut my own hair!
What will you recommend to people who are planning a visit to Tokyo/ Japan
MI: I would recommend the Hiroshima Genbaku Dome. Not only is the area spacious, you can also learn a lot about war and peace there.
You must have experienced some culture shock when you first came to Singapore. Tell us about them!
MI: When I first came here, I was shocked at how clean Singapore was! (laughs)
What message would you like to leave to students who are currently learning the Japanese language?
MI: You’re all doing really well.
