Q&A with Ms. Nakashima

こんにちは、みなさん!
How many if you are Ms Nakashima’s students? This week, it’s her turn for our Q&A 😀 Read on!
Why did you choose to work at Bunka?
I saw the advertisement in a recruiting website. After doing a little research on Bunka, I decided to work here.
What do you do on your day off?
I sleep until noon (haha~). Sometimes I listen to music and surf the web. I prepare for lessons too.

What do you miss about Japan?
Hot spring (onsen)! And also Japanese shows, like dramas, comedy (Manzai), variety shows, etc. I don’t really watch TV in Singapore…
Where is your current favourite hangout?
Marina Bay Sands. It’s a beautiful place. I seldom go but the scenery around the place is really beautiful 🙂
What “Singlish” words have you learnt so far?
“Can? Can!”, and, “Ok lah!”

What is your favourite local food?
Chilli Crab, Char Kway Teow, and Chicken Rice.
How about your least favourite food?
Durian cake, but I’m okay with pure durian. Is that weird? (hehe)
What is/are your hobby(ies)?
Eating delicious food… In Japan, I did flower arrangement – the Western style, not Ikebana.
What will you recommend to people who are planning a visit to Kumamoto?
Kumamoto castle and Mount Aso. Whenever I go back to my hometown, I will definitely visit Kokutei Ramen. It’s near Kumamoto Station.
Tell us about one interesting incident during your stay in Singapore.
I saw someone talking hands-free over the phone, and I was confused whether the person was talking to himself or to me. That was when I first came to Singapore. In Kumamoto, I have never experienced that.
What message would you like to leave to students who are currently learning the Japanese language?
Please enjoy learning the language! Keep learning and don’t give up 🙂

Ms Nakashima: これからもよろしくお願いいたします。
